Because plug plants are already established, they tend to mature and produce fruit or flowers faster than plants grown from seeds.

Plug plants are extremely convenient and versatile. They can be planted in pots, hanging baskets, window boxes and raised beds.

While the upfront cost of plug plants is slightly higher than seeds, they often prove more cost-effective in the long run.

Plug plants save a huge amount of time and effort as you do not need to deal with germination or the delicate early stages of growth.

Whilton is growing too
The Lockhouse, the building to the left as you enter our driveway, is set (fingers crossed) to open in March. The last little snags to sort and retailers have access to reveal opening days very soon. We look forward to introducing you all to them very soon, in what will prove an exciting new expansion of the Whilton family.
Talking of family, who is the favourite? The one that always gets their own way and really runs the household?* It is, of course, the family dog.
So we have dog-gone and done it again with an event just for dogs and their hooman helpers.
10th February, we have our very pupular, Afternoon Tea doggy do for dogs. Tea will be held in The Potting Shed restaurant. A delightful experience for the whole family both two and four-legged friends.

It’s Puppy Love. You will love it, although it isn’t just for puppies – all pooches, all sizes and all shapes. No pesky cats though, sneaking in. Paws-itively perfect!

Within our Canalside restaurant we are offering both Mother’s Day Brunch and Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea, in addition to our marvellous meals at lunch on the Sunday.
